The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo started modestly in 1965 with 18 animal exhibits on only 5.5 acres. The zoo has grown steadily over the years and now houses over 1,000 animals on 40 acres. The zoo now has four different biomes (African Journey, Australian Adventure, Central Zoo, and Indonesian Rain Forest) which are themed as different parts of the world.
