The Roosevelt Park Zoo which is located on 19 acres within Roosevelt Park in Minot, ND first opened to the public in 1921, making it the oldest zoo in North Dakota. The zoo contains 159 animals encompassing 68 different species and attracts nearly 100,000 visitors per year. Twice in the last 60 years, the animals have had to be relocated due to flooding on zoo grounds.
